Why Nutrition, fitness and wellness are important

Nutrition

Nutrition education can help permanently pivot a child’s eating habits if taught at an early age. A balanced diet can help students increase energy levels, promote a functioning immune system, improve their ability to cope with stress, and increase concentration and performance in school.

Fitness

Regular physical activity can help children and adolescents improve cardiorespiratory fitness, build strong bones and muscles, control weight, reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and reduce the risk of developing chronic health conditions at an early age.

Wellness

Being socially/emotionally healthy during childhood means reaching developmental and emotional milestones and learning healthy social skills and how to cope when there are problems. Mentally healthy children have a positive quality of life and can function well at home, in school, and in their communities.

Gen-Health Message

For Teachers

For Educators and those looking to get into the Education field, Gen Health provides a unique opportunity to impact children’s education, as well as their physical and social well being.

Any Educators that share our programs passion to service communities in need are encouraged to join or contribute to our cause.

For Parents

Due to rising obesity rates in children and current national health concerns, parents are more invested than ever in their children’s health. Our program address’s an issue that has become a growing worry amongst parent everywhere.

Our program ensures children receive the recommended amount of nutrition education while also helping children meet weekly physical fitness standards based on their age.

For Schools

Health education has ascended as a priority within the DOE. Due to the current structure of school schedules and limited resources some schools have struggled to find a way to implement nutrition education, social emotional education, and physical fitness  to their day to day plans for students. Our program offers a simple solution where we can supplement children’s education, help schools meet new health guidances within DOE, and  provide much needed after school services to communities in need.
