Pillars of our program

Gen-Health’s curriculum focuses on teaching students to understand the ever-evolving landscape of healthy nutrition. The importance of incorporating fitness into their everyday lives, and highlighting how imperative social interaction is to the overall wellness of a developing child.

We believe our program and curriculum will be significant contributors in ending the cycle of childhood obesity and addressing a growing list of social development issues among children.

We hope that our commitment to this issue will give this generation the tools necessary to live optimal lives in terms of overall health and instil these same lessons in generations to come.

NUTRITION

Through our meticulously developed curriculum student enrolled in the program will receive a thorough, interactive education regarding the fundamentals of nutrition. Upon completion of the program each student will understand what makes a healthy person, the components of the food pyramid, how to compose a healthy meal, and how to properly read a food label. This skill set will give each student the foundation necessary to implement healthier eating habits in their daily lives.

Fitness

Each student will have a physical fitness evaluation. A fitness plan will be developed for each child based on their displayed ability. Each fitness plan will have milestones that each child will be expected to meet throughout the course of the program. The fitness plan will have a focus on improving each child’s coordination, executing proper exercise motions, building strength and stamina. Upon completion of the program each child will show noticeable improvement in all core physical fitness activities.

Social Wellness

Our program was curtailed and developed to help students learn how to work in a team environment. Either through team sports activities, interactive learning, or group sharing activities they will each be taught how to work together more effectively to reach a common goal. Due to the increased time children spend in front of screens (computers televisions iPads etc.) we understand the social acuity of the average elementary school child has suffered. Our after-school program will directly address this growing issue.
