Wellness Coach

Job responsibilities include:
• Execute plans for daily activities in line with program curriculum with students in K-5

• Must be available 2:30PM-5:30PM, Monday - Friday

• Foster a positive and healthy learning environment

• Encourage creative thinking and learning

• Plan and implement lesson plans for teaching health & wellness, physical fitness techniques, sport, and living a healthy and active lifestyle

• Communicate with parents regarding child development and progress

• Provide a range of instructional, management, and assessment strategies to meet the different needs of students

• Keep equipment accessible and in good, clean, sanitized condition and removing and reporting damaged or unsafe equipment.

• Ensure the safety of students under your supervision

• Performs other related duties as required

• Be able to work remotely

• Familiarity with remote working software: Zoom, Google Workspace

Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of education techniques and methods for teaching young children

• At least 1-year experience working in education or childcare within K-5

• Patient and supportive approach to the learning process

• Enthusiastic and encouraging

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus

• Computer literate, tech-savvy and comfortable using basic computer functions

• Ability to use data to inform instruction and decision-making related to student achievement

• Highly effective writing, oral and interpersonal skills to communicate with a varied audience

• Experience working with young children. College students working toward a degree in early childhood / special education and eligible for Teaching Assistant Certification are encouraged to apply

• Minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent with a preference for at least 12 college credits in Early Childhood Development and an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early
Childhood Development and/or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential

• CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
